IJdema Coating and Thermal Breaks: two companies that are complementary to each other. They want to serve their customers in the aluminum processing industry in the best possible way and are pulling together in that process. Both companies are part of The Intal Group, but work on great assignments from their own locations.
When we ask Rick Neefjes, business manager at both IJdema Coating and Thermal Breaks, about the similarities, the answer is quickly given: "We want to relieve our customers of their worries, think good communication is important in this respect, we can switch quickly, we are price-wise interesting and deliver excellent quality. Above all, we are a valuable complement to each other. By combining the provision of both thermal insulation and powder coating, we create a unique market position where clients are optimally relieved."
IJdema Coating (consisting of IJdema Coating and IJdema Powder Coating) is originally a family business specializing in wet painting and powder coating of steel and aluminum, among other things. "We do that within a large number of sectors, with facade construction being our largest market," Neefjes continues. With a team of some thirty people, many of whom have been with IJdema for decades, there is a lot of knowledge and experience in house. "Working with great attention, accuracy and pleasure is really reflected in the high quality of the products we deliver," Neefjes believes. "We mainly handle aluminum profiles for facade builders. For example, we powder-coat all of Intal's aluminum profiles. And we serve various other customers with our wet painting and powder coating services. All processes at IJdema meet the highest standards. In the field of quality, we are ISO 9001 certified and our ISO 14001 certificate shows that we take active measures to continuously improve our environmental performance. Our powder coating is Qualicoat Seaside certified and meets the NEN-EN 1090 standard for CE marking."
Thermal Breaks is the partner of choice for aluminum profile insulation, also known as thermal break or thermal insulation. "Here we work with a young and ambitious team of about ten people, all of whom are very good at what they do," says Neefjes. "Using the latest techniques and machines, we have been helping various customers such as facade builders, boat and caravan window processors and overhead doors to their complete satisfaction for many years." There are different insulation techniques to insulate aluminum profiles, such as cast insulation and roll-in insulation. Neefjes emphasizes that Thermal Breaks is the only party in the Netherlands that insulates aluminum profiles using a polyurethane cast-resin core. "That makes us unique. However, it is also possible to have aluminum profiles insulated with a more pliable, elastic core, so that the profiles can still be bent during later processing." For the facade construction industry - like IJdema's largest market - Thermal Breaks provides the rolling in of aluminum profiles. This involves using the Aluroller Evo, the market leader among roll-in machines, to achieve the very high quality. "The machine also has high productivity, which allows us to offer this form of thermal insulation at a low price. Extremely interesting for parties with their own profile system (such as Intal) or parties working with the Schüco system." Neefjes sees great opportunities within the facade construction market: "Schüco processors receive the profiles separately and then still have to roll them in (or have them rolled in). Thermal Breaks can make a significant difference by doing this quickly and professionally. An additional advantage is the possibility of having the profiles powder coated by IJdema after rolling in, which allows extremely short delivery times."
