Leading wholesaler with lots of added logistical value

For more than 45 years, VBH Netherlands has specialized in developing, producing and delivering solutions in window and door technology for aluminum, steel and plastic profile systems. But above all, VBH offers great added customer value in the field of process optimization and logistics. In doing so, it builds lasting relationships.

Using a scanner system, VBH ensures that various products are automatically replenished at the customer's premises.

Value-added services

"Thinking along with the customer and adding value to your services, that's where we make the difference," says Frank Vollenbronck, responsible for marketing at VBH. "Over the years, VBH has already developed various systems with which we live up to that. Especially also in the logistics area, because we find that we can support the customer especially in that."

Logistics solutions from VBH Netherlands. It is even possible to deliver a container to the construction site, fully equipped for the project.

Process optimization...

"To help the customer gain time, you have to improve the customer's processes," says Robert Krechting, Supply Chain Manager at VBH. "By listening carefully to the input from the customer, it becomes clear what is needed and we offer solutions that directly save time or reduce costs." Thus, VBH developed four concepts, each of which contributes to process optimization.

...through digital solutions

"We offer digital solutions, such as electronic connections between systems. By linking the customer to VBH's ERP system, orders are automatically processed, confirmations sent and packing slips and invoices created. Periodic orders can be automated, contributing to more efficient order administration and fulfillment. Less handling costs and fewer errors," says Krechting. Vollenbronck adds: "Furthermore, in our e-commerce platform vbh24.nl the customer can order items, compare them or request technical data. The customer himself can set this up optimally by project, location, budget or order lists. For example, employees can order directly from the construction site and a head of purchasing has direct insight into the orders per project."

VBH also has its own logistics completely in order. So every month over 15,000 order lines from VBH make their way to customers whenever, wherever and however late they want.

...through logistical solutions

However, VBH not only takes into account estimation, work preparation and production, but above all has a lot to offer in terms of purchasing and logistics. "In the field of customization, we go one step further," says Krechting. "Orders can be packed and labeled entirely as desired: per window, per door, per house, per project. It is even possible to deliver a container to the construction site, fully equipped for the project. Everything is available, in the right quantity and even in the right order: mechanics can no longer miss which saves a lot of time on a project. Packaging and delivery in Euronorm containers, for example, is also possible in order to speed up business processes and, above all, to deal with packaging in a more sustainable way, thus preventing waste."

...through transportation solutions

In the context of transport solutions, it is possible at VBH to agree on fixed delivery days, delivery times or even night deliveries. "This allows the customer to adjust his planning to the delivery, or vice versa," says Krechting. "By fine-tuning transport to these delivery times, we ensure a more efficient process in the logistics chain."

...through stock solutions

As if this were not enough, VBH offers inventory management solutions. "Based on agreements made, we ensure that various products are automatically replenished at the customer's premises. This can be done using a scanner system so that the desired replenishment is quickly delivered." Krechting continues: "And when a purchase guarantee has been agreed upon, VBH keeps articles or even a customer-specific assortment in stock, so that the customer himself only has to keep a limited stock, but can always continue the process. Indeed, here too: fewer mistakes, fewer costs. And clear inventory management."

"By working together with the customer and understanding what is needed, we always arrive at an optimal solution. An important added value for the customer so they can keep the focus on their core business," Vollenbronck concludes.
