Over the past forty years, De Groot & Visser has become an authority in facade construction. The company focuses primarily on utility construction and apartment complexes, both in new construction and in renovations and transformations. With high-profile projects such as the facades of The Pulse of Amsterdam on the Zuidas or the large-scale renovation of the ABN AMRO complex in the Bijlmer district, it is clear what the company realizes. De Groot & Visser employs 110 people, in engineering, logistics and production. Current director Anita de Groot will remain with the company as commercial director.

Weclad

With its majority stake in De Groot & Visser, French construction group Léon Grosse is strengthening its facade business. Earlier in Europe, the construction group took large stakes in Kyotec, Rinaldi and Techniwood. With these companies, De Groot & Visser forms the alliance Weclad. The alliance's ambition is to be the European leader in sustainable facades. Facades are a very important component in the energy performance of buildings. To this end, Weclad wants to exploit and strengthen technical, industrial and commercial cooperation.

Facade specialists

The acquisition of De Groot & Visser by the Léon Grosse Group is part of the international development strategy of its felling division. In 2020, the group acquired Kyotec, and in 2023 Rinaldi and Techniwood. This strategy continues with a focus on the highly dynamic Dutch market, where De Groot & Visser has a strong historical presence. By joining forces in the Weclad alliance, they combine their technical, industrial and commercial capabilities to serve clients even better.

  • Kyotec is the European facade specialist for complex and technical peels with multiple materials for large-scale projects.
  • Rinaldi is the leading French facade cladding company that develops customized prefabricated solutions.
  • De Groot & Visser is one of the leading Dutch facade companies for new buildings and transformations, with a focus on sustainable solutions.
  • Techniwood specializes in the design and production of wood prefabricated facades and is the creator of Panobloc® wood technology.

With the combined expertise and the technical and industrial capabilities in the alliance, Weclad is able to guarantee its customers the best offer in terms of quality, design and durability.

Integrated technical teams

Within Weclad, teams of integrated façade design experts work across Europe in 7 design offices. The design teams are involved from the commercial stages and are in direct contact with the production teams to ensure total control of the projects. The many patented solutions developed by each company within Weclad are also shared within the alliance. These include the Panobloc® cladding panels (of organic origin), the Evost® HVAC system (energy efficient and modular) and Kyofix (invisible fixing system for mineral cladding). Weclad's low-carbon unit is concerned with resource optimization and the deployment of relevant technical solutions, both in new construction and renovation projects, in order to always offer a sustainable alternative as well. Weclad's 5 factories (in France, Poland, Portugal and the Netherlands) give the alliance the capacity to support all types of projects in Europe. "With Weclad, we thus offer our customers the assurance of high-quality, customized solutions for their projects," said Bruno Moyne, managing director of Weclad.
