The versatility of aluminum facades

Aluminum facades are increasingly used in facade construction. Extremely versatile, but not yet known to the general public. Because of the many finishing possibilities and coatings that can be applied, there is much more possible than is often thought. Comhan Holland lists a number of special possibilities.

Aluminum with wood look 

An aluminum facade with a wood look is one of the many applications that aluminum offers. This look is achieved by using a combination of techniques. A base color powder coating is applied to the pre-treated aluminum. After curing, a solid bond is formed between the coating and the aluminum. Then sublimation to wood structure follows to achieve a natural wood look. Sublimation is a technique in which ink is introduced into the coating by pressure and heating.

Comhan has already performed for several projects wood sublimated aluminum profiles delivered for the facade. The result is a facade with a wood look that cannot be distinguished from the real thing. While at the same time you benefit from the advantages of aluminum. For example, aluminum is much lighter than wood, but still very strong. At the same time, aluminum insulates better and because it does not absorb moisture, it does not rust or rot. This makes aluminum a more durable and low-maintenance material compared to wood. 

Aluminum with stainless steel look 

A facade with stainless steel or stainless steel plates? Also look at the alternative that aluminum offers. Aluminum with a stainless steel look is more economical, more flexible and easier to work with than the original. In addition, aluminum plates are more resistant to corrosion and other outside influences. Maintenance and cleaning of an aluminum facade with stainless steel look is also easier. A neutral cleaning agent can be used. Comhan supplies these sheets directly from stock.

 Aluminum with a unique look 

If you are looking for a unique look for your facade, aluminum composite panels (ACP) are also very suitable. ACP sheets are PVDF coated on both sides and contain a mineral-filled fire-retardant FR core (fire class B1). These sheets are also available directly from stock at Comhan.

Some of the advantages of aluminum composite plates: they are very flat, lightweight, suitable for all processing techniques, weather and corrosion resistant, as well as durable and 100% recyclable.

• Colour match coating

Would you like the aluminum facade in a specific color or one to match the project colors? You can! An aluminum facade with ACP can be made in any color you want. This gives the facade any desired look. 

• Metallic coating

Looking for a modern look where the facade really stands out? A facade with a metallic coating gives the facade a high-quality look.

• Chameleon PDVF coating

Does your facade need a unique look? With a chameleon PDVF coating, the facade gets a two-color effect. Sunlight changes the appearance of the facade. Unique, modern and sleek.

• Sparkling coating

Is sparkling what your facade needs? A special sparkling coating will give your facade a sparkling look that you can't ignore.

• High Gloss Sparkling coating

A high gloss sparkling coating gives your facade real shine. This double polyester coating provides an extra high gloss and a mirror effect.

Finally, Comhan can mill the sheets to size and neatly fold over the side(s) of your aluminum composite sheets so that the core is no longer visible. Among other things, folding over is ideal for preventing 'bare' edges on facade cladding.
