Located in the heart of Twente's textile industry, Twentinox has been producing architectural, metal fabrics for indoor and outdoor use for many years. The façade line in particular is gaining more and more popularity as a result of the trend towards the use of authentic materials in façades. The metal fabrics are decorative and functional at the same time and extremely suitable for new construction and renovation applications.
Inspired by textile weaving, Twentinox has developed a unique methodology for producing metallic fabrics. The result is absolutely admirable and has many areas of application. "For application in the facade, we use four 'styles' - Golf Romeo, Golf Sierra, Sierra Papa and Hotel Alfa - within which we can vary endlessly with mesh opening, thread thickness, pitch, pitch, shape, etc. Actually, anything is possible, just as it is in textile weaving," says Weronika Witczuk, architectural consultant at Twentinox. "Therefore, no two façade projects are the same."
Twentinox's metal fabrics go all over the world. "We ship to Russia, Australia, the United States, and so on," Witczuk continues. "In many projects, our fabrics are used as both decorative and functional elements at the same time, for example as sun protection, fall protection, a movable curtain or as a fixed element (i.e., transparent and ventilating) in a facade or balustrade. The material is so inspiring that architects often come up with surprising designs and solutions. For example, our metal fabrics were recently used as rainwater drains in an organic, undulating form. Indeed, the strength of our company lies in the fact that we have our own engineering department, enabling us to fulfill virtually all the wishes of our clients. Of course, we know better than anyone else how the material behaves and what the effect is on the fabric the moment you start stretching it, hanging it or even rolling it up. It not infrequently leads to enchanting solutions."
Twentinox's façade solutions can be executed in natural materials: including stainless steel and Nordic gold. "They are both solid 'wires,' we don't work with any coating or other surface treatments," Witczuk explains. "That's what makes the material so strong, durable and infinitely recyclable. It also requires relatively little maintenance. We always produce on a project basis. After all, every project is unique. The many possibilities also make the material extremely suitable for renovation projects to give an existing building a new and completely individual look."
