Sun protection with solar powered motors

Aluminum shutters and blinds from heroal are ideal for darkening buildings. Thanks to an integrated solar-powered motor, these shutters and awnings can be operated in a particularly energy-saving way. Different solutions make it possible to meet specific requirements.

Roller shutter systems with solar powered drives

The integration of solar-powered motors Kaiser Nienhaus Easyline Solar (6 and 20 Nm) and Somfy RS 100 Solar io (6, 10, 15 and 20 Nm) enables energy-efficient drive of heroal roller shutter systems. There is a large selection of different shutter rod systems to choose from with cover widths between 37 and 52 mm. A separate power supply is not required. Control is wireless via remote control or a button on the wall. For maximum flexibility, the solar-powered motors are equipped with an integrated lithium-ion or nickel-metal hydride battery. The roller blind operates about 100 cycles if there is not enough sunlight. If the battery is completely flat, it can also be charged via an external interface.

The solar-powered motor is quickly and easily installed in heroal's small, stable roller shutter box. With the Somfy RS 100 Solar io motor, the battery is not in the motor, but externally in the shutter box. To make optimal use of the available winding space, cover caps with a slightly forward hinge are ideal for fixing the shutter box. Since the motor is slightly shorter due to the external battery, narrower elements can thus be realized.

With the Kaiser Nienhaus Easyline Solar motor, the battery is inside the motor. This means that the same dimensions as with conventional motors are possible. Roller shutter elements with the Kaiser Nienhaus Easyline Solar motor can also be equipped with an integrated heroal IS insect screen on request.

If necessary, the system can also be retrofitted and integrated into a Smart Home System. The heroal solar-powered roller shutter systems are available as heroal Ready prefabricated elements (Somfy RS 100 Solar io and Kaiser Nienhaus Easyline Solar motors) and as system products (Kaiser Nienhaus Easyline Solar motor).

Zipscreen with solar drive

The solar shading systems heroal VS Z Solar and heroal VS Z Kaiser Nienhaus Solar combine the advantages of an innovative zipscreen system with an integrated solar drive. The sun protection system is available in two versions. 

In the version with the solar-powered heroal motor (10 Nm) and integrated battery in combination with a 54 mm aluminum shaft in the 85 mm shutter box, maximum element sizes of 2,000 x 2,200 mm can be produced. Formats of 3,000 x 3,000 mm can be realized in combination with a 63 mm steel shaft in a 95 mm roller shutter box. The solar-powered heroal motor can be controlled with a wireless remote control (433 MHz). Different elements of the heroal VS Z Solar can be combined into groups that can be controlled via a hand/wall transmitter. 

The Kaiser Nienhaus Easyline Solar solar motor (6 Nm) is suitable for integration into Smart Home systems.

The integrated lithium-ion battery also provides maximum flexibility for shading systems. If there is not enough sunlight, the heroal VS Z roller blind can still operate for about 100 cycles. Alternatively, the battery can also be charged via an external interface. Because the Li-ion battery is built into the motor, small roller shutter boxes with standard element heights can be used.
